As reported in Variety on 6/23/2004 Paramount and Lorenzo
di Bonaventura have tapped Michael Tolkin to adapt Paranoia. Tolkin is
coming onboard a year after di Bonaventura optioned film rights to the novel.
Tolkin is best known for Hollywood-themed suspenser The Player, for which
he adapted his novel of the same name and received an Oscar nomination for his
screenplay. He co-wrote Changing Lanes and Deep Impact, and directed
The Rapture. Di Bonaventura's projects at Paramount include Bad Girls;
Detour; Memoirs of a Super Freak, Sleeping With Schubert
and Shooter, based on the Stephen Hunter novel.
